An adventure to raise funds.
The Shona Foundation arranged the “Wee Govan Cycle”, a cycling event on St. Andrew’s Day 2022 to support and encourage the theme of recovery through nature.
Our goal was to cycle from the Rose garden at Elderpark, Govan to Edinburgh by way of Falkirk. This journey require cycling over 100 miles!
We hoped to raise funds for the Phoenix Futures group. In response, organizations such as “Bikes for Good” and “Rose garden Volunteers” along with our local community came together.
The goal that we set was achieved, our volunteers completed their journey as well as one could hope when taking the weather into consideration!
These funds will support support local initiatives and future events that revolve around nature such as gardening and growing. We are already laying the plans for a cycling event on Millport, Isle of Cumbrae.
